Young Lives Safe Shores
From June to September 2026, we will be delivering a nationwide Water Safety Educational Campaign aimed at children aged 6–13 years and their families.
This interactive initiative promotes safe behaviour around the sea, pools, and open water through hands-on demonstrations, age-appropriate learning tools, and clear emergency protocols.
This project is funded by the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme (VOPS), managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) and supported by the Ministry for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector.
The objective of this campaign is to promote water safety awareness among children and families across Malta during the summer months. Through structured outreach sessions, we aim to equip young participants with the knowledge and confidence to recognise common water hazards, understand beach flag systems, respond appropriately in emergencies, and adopt safe behaviours around pools and the sea.
Our mission is simple: to help children stay safe in and around water.
This campaign is open to organisations that work with children aged 6–13 during the summer period. These include summer schools, sports clubs, football nurseries, dance and art schools, Scouts and Guides groups, as well as other youth-focused NGOs and community organisations.
Sessions are tailored according to age group and may include understanding beach flags and warning signs, learning how and when to call 112, recognising common water hazards, basic first aid awareness, sun safety and dehydration prevention, interactive safety games, and demonstrations by our trained volunteers.
All sessions are delivered by trained members of St John Ambulance & Rescue, experienced in first aid, event medical support, and community outreach.
If your organisation provides summer activities for this age group, we would be pleased to collaborate.
